ANA-MAINE Center for Maine Nurses
About ANA-MAINE’s Center for Maine Nurses
At the national level, the Center for American Nurses was established in 2003. The Center offers tools, services and strategies designed to make nurses their own best advocates in their practice environments. Through research, continuing education and knowledge sharing among today’s nursing community, the Center offers powerful resources to nurses seeking to overcome workforce challenges and realize opportunities.
The Center for American Nurses equips nurses with the means to be their own best advocates in the workplace. The Center’s tools, services and strategies support nurses at all levels of experience who are striving to:
Improve their practice environments
Meet their personal and professional goals
Promote excellence in patient care
In April 2006, the ANA-MAINE Board of Directors submitted an application to the Center for American Nurses to become part of the Center’s Membership Council. By Fall 2006, the ANA-Maine members will be asked to ratify the Board’s decision by voting on bylaws changes that will acknowledge our formal membership to the Center.
In late June 2006, two ANA-Maine officers, Susan Henderson and Susan McLeod, attended the Annual Meeting of the Center’s Membership Council. To find out more about ANA-Maine’s participation in the Center’s 2006 Membership Council, please see the President’s August 2006 Message.
We invite you to browse through this section of the ANA-MAINE Web site and learn more about these initial first steps for the Center for Maine Nurses.
