1. ANA-MAINE Announces Plans for it's 2006 Annual Meeting and Conference
7/23/2006
ANA-MAINE President, Susan Henderson, announced the plans for this year’s ANA-MAINE Annual Meeting and Conference, “Building Nurse Leaders for Complex Environments” to be held at the Ramada Inn at 490 Pleasant Street in Lewiston, Maine on October 20th. This year’s conference faculty represents many shining stars with respect to Maine’s nurse leaders, from front-line, grass roots programs, to State level initiatives, and even those at the national level. Topics will include: a detailed description of the effective leadership behaviors needed for today’s complex work environment; identification of the ways a nurse can promote safety from chemical workplace hazards; exploration of the grass-roots leadership nurses can make in the legislative process; and a description of how ANA-MAINE’s new relationship with the Center for American Nurses can assist nurses to attain their personal and professional goals in their work environment. Finally, the nursing leaders at Maine’s two Magnet nursing services, MMC and The Acadia Hospital, will discuss their Magnet Journey at this year’s Annual Meeting.
